Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes was in a mood while playing the Detroit Lions on Saturday, taking to the field for a preseason fixture against the team that ruined his opening weekend last season.
Mahomes got the last laugh as he led the Chiefs to a second-straight Super Bowl win at the end of it all, beating the San Francisco 49ers after they took care of Detroit in the NFC Championship Game with another MVP performance.
Still, all of that will be forgotten once the regular season gets underway, as the AFC outfit will be solely focused on a three-peat. So, while there’s still time to have some fun and take some risks, Mahomes appears to be keen on doing just that.
Midway through the fourth quarter of Saturday’s fixture, he found Travis Kelce for a key first down on a third-and-three with a cheeky behind-the-back pass that left the Lions’ defense looking silly.
