Meghan Markle was urged to do three key things before she returns to the UK if she wants to be perceived better by the British public.
Meghan Markle has been urged to shift her focus on three key things in order to boost her damaged popularity in the UK, ahead of her alleged return.
The Duchess of Sussex’s popularity has currently fallen to an all-time low, as the people with a negative view of Meghan make up 68 percent, according to a YouGov survey.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry’s wife has been making headlines after a source claimed she may be coming back to the UK in May to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games in London.
Meghan has not travelled to Britain since the late Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September 2022 and previously vowed she would “never step foot in England again”.
Now a PR expert pinpointed the three things she must do before she returns to boost the public’s perception.
Lynn Carratt from Press Box PR told Express.co.uk the duchess should refrain from “constantly” playing in her royal connections, try and be more relatable to the general public and avoid contradicting herself.
She explained: “Meghan could increase her popularity by not constantly playing in her royal connections, like on her and Harry’s relaunched website.
“To become more relatable to the British public, Meghan can consider toning down her use of designer labels and opting for frugal options, like Kate.
“Showing herself as a normal working mum who is facing the same challenges as others would also help.”
The expert also criticised the former Suits actress for often contradicting herself with her actions, as, she claimed, the public dislike “hypocrisy”.
Ms Carratt said: “The public often dislikes the hypocrisy of her showing off her privileged life while trying to resonate and relate to those less fortunate than her.
“Also, her use of private jets whilst campaigning for climate change is often commented on.
“Fair or unfair, the public likes to call her out on these things, so I believe toning this down would help increase her popularity.”
