Christina Sandera, Clint Eastwood’s longtime companion and 33 years his junior, has passed away.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Eastwood paid tribute to Christina Sandera, calling her a “wonderful and dear woman,” and expressed his deep sorrow at her untimely death at 61 years of age.
No other details of Christina’s passing will be disclosed, according to his representative.
Christina Sandera’s tight friendship with the famous actor’s family was a defining feature of their relationship, which began in 2014. At several of Clint’s premieres, she could be seen holding his children.
They first crossed paths in Monterey, California, where Sandera was working as a hostess at Eastwood’s hotel.
Clint rescued Christina from her violent ex-husband, according to news outlets abroad. He had previously claimed that, due to his celebrity, she was the first woman to ever reject him. But he had no intention of marrying her.
Prior to his engagement with Christina, Eastwood was wed to journalist Dina Ruiz from 1996 to 2014.
His previous marriage lasted from 1987 to that point, to Maggie Johnson. The media documented numerous of his relationships, not just these marriages. Noor Alfallah was one of his partners; she had a child with Al Pacino when he was older.
