Lately, Rihanna has been all in on sporty style (perhaps some Olympic inspiration?), rocking tracksuits and baseball caps. But yesterday, she retired her jersey in favor of a bejeweled Carnival costume while participating in the Crop Over Festival in her native Barbados.
For the Kadooment Day Parade, Rih wore an opulent metallic bikini covered in brown stones, which draped over her shoulders and wrapped around her body and legs. Playing off of the costume’s organic shapes, she added a pair of gold heels with a leafy vine motif. Rih’s crowning glory? The regal, seven-pronged headpiece perched atop her head, embellished with crystals that matched her eye-catching costume.
And, of course, no Carnival look is complete without a pair of wings. For the 2024 Crop Over Festival, Rihanna opted for a magnificent pair complete with yellow, orange, magenta, red, and black feathers.
This is Rih’s first Crop Over in St. Michael since 2019, so we wouldn’t expect anything less than a glorious outfit. That said, every one of the singer’s Carnival looks has been a hit. In 2017, she practically broke the internet in a pink-and-green set of wings and a bikini to match (and teal hair!), while in 2013 she opted for an angelic white outfit with iridescent crystals. Whether she’s in a neon ombre set of wings or a cloud of cotton candy pink feathers, no matter what Rihanna wears, she can’t go wrong.
