Mike has accused his royal niece of leaving her family behind despite the many years that he and other relatives supported her. While speaking to Woman magazine, he shared that he had first helped Meghan become a stateswoman when she was around 20 years old. As a former diplomat, Mike was able to get her an internship as a junior press officer in the American embassy in Argentina when she was looking at a career in international relations.
He now fears that Meghan has turned her back on her American family and is doubtful that he will ever hear from her again. The elder brother of her father Thomas Markle, 75, Mike said, “Meghan has climbed socially and left us behind — that’s how I feel. I think that’s what happens when you’re ‘underclass’ and trying to rise above the reality of your situation. She’s a prima donna because he (Thomas) treated her really well”.
Mike also shed some light on the reported feud between Meghan Markle and the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton. While speaking of Meghan, Mike shared, “Coming from her background, she may have a chip on her shoulder. It could be that that’s part of the problem she’s having with her sister-in-law. Meghan is immature in some ways”.
“I feel that because of the way she acts — not only towards family members but other people,” Mike added. He also recalled feeling extremely bad that he was not invited to Meghan and Prince Harry’s wedding.
Recently, Meghan and Prince Harry opened up on their fragile mental state in ITV’s documentary ‘Harry & Meghan: An African Journey’. The documentary received mixed reviews from people with half sympathizing for the royals and the other half criticizing them.
