Jared Goff had a perfect night against the Seahawks, but Lions head coach Dan Campbell had no idea.
Goff is the first quarterback in NFL history to attempt more than ten passes in a game without throwing an incompletion.
Jared Goff turned in a flawless 18-of-18 performance in front of a primetime audience as the Lions earned a 42-29 victory over the Seahawks on “Monday Night Football.”
Unfortunately, Dan Campbell ended up handing out game balls to Offensive Coordinator Ben Johnson, WR Jameson Williams, and DB Kerby Joseph.
He felt bad once he was informed of Goff’s game because he had no clue.
“I just gave the game ball to somebody else, so I feel awful,” Campbell said when asked about Goff’s 18-of-18 showing. “I knew he played a heck of a game, but I did not realize he was perfect. I did not know he was literally 18-for-18.”

Jared Goff may not have gotten a game ball in Week 4, but the former No. 1 pick is probably more than happy with the victory as the team has much bigger goals.
After the game, Goff said it was the first time he’s ever been perfect in the throwing column, at any level. He also went 11-for-11 in the first half in the Lions’ win over the Cardinals last week, “so I was aware of it then, and I was kind of aware of it today. Middle of the third quarter, I was like, I couldn’t think of (a miss).”
It should be mentioned that Goff did throw one pass to Sam LaPorta that hit the ground in the fourth quarter, but he was saved as it got erased by an offensive pass interference penalty on Brock Wright.

Several plays later, Goff hit Amon-Ra St. Brown for his second touchdown of the night.
