Meghan Markle made a dig at Oprah’s book party
Meghan Markle made a subtle dig at the Royals while attending Oprah’s book party with eagle-eyed fans spotting an outrageous addition.
The Duchess of Sussex was one of the speakers at an event at Godmothers Bookstore in Summerland, California, yesterday – the day before the anniversary of the Queen’s death.
It is not known what exactly the duchess said in her speech but fellow celebrity guests appeared to hail her address.
And behind her, Prince Harry’s memoir Spare was proudly displayed on the ‘hometowns heroes’ shelf, which celebrated the store’s opening this weekend.
Bookstore co-owner and literary agent, Jennifer Rudolph Walsh said of the collection: “This is our local authors shelf when you first walk in.

“I want it to be when you first walk in so that authors who are local to the area know that this is their hometown bookstore.
“And we celebrate our hometown authors as if they were our hometown heroes, because to us they are.”
The bombshell book, which originally came out in January 2023, is set to be released in paperback in October of this year.
In it, Harry alleged Prince William knocked him to the floor and ripped his necklace after heated words about Meghan.
Meghan and Oprah have been close friends for several years, with the famous talk show host even being a guest at the Sussexes’ wedding in 2018.
The friendship appears to have solidified since Harry and Meghan stepped back as senior royals and moved to their Montecito mansion in 2020.
The couple then sent shock waves across the globe throughout their sit-down interview with Oprah in 2021, during which harsh claims were lobbed at the Firm.
Oprah has also publicly spoken about the pair and their fractured relationship with the Royal Family.
Ahead of King Charles’ coronation in May last year, she told the CBS Mornings show: “I think they should do what they feel is best for them and their family.
“That’s what I think. They haven’t asked me my opinion.”
