Princess Anne warns Princess Charlotte over Prince Harry mistake in ‘royal training’
Princess Anne included Prince Harry’s infamous mistake in a list of things “not to do” to Princess Charlotte, an insider has claimed.
The Princess Royal is said to be taking the nine-year-old under her wing for a “royal crash course”. And sources claim her uncle has come under the spotlight during the training.
“Anne’s also inadvertently giving her some juicy gossip on the family by going through some of the worst faux pas a royal can make,” the source told Australian magazine Woman’s Day.
“From her uncle partying in Nazi uniforms to Beatrice’s dreadful fascinator at her parents’ wedding.”
Harry was infamously pictured wearing the outfit to a “fancy dress party” back in 2005 and later apologised.
Charlotte and Anne are reportedly having a great time together and are forming a close bond.
“They’re talking all the time about everything and anything, ” the royal source continued. “Women’s football, sailing, horses, ballet, fashion, manners… Essentially she’s foolproofing Charlotte into becoming the perfect princess and standby queen.”
Anne is also apparently making efforts to nurture a positive relationship between Charlotte and her brother George. Her aim is supposedly to avoid any sibling rivalry similar to that of William and Harry and instead foster the kind of mutual respect that characterises the Princess Royal’s relationship with His Majesty the King.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are said to be “thrilled” with the bond forming between their daughter, Charlotte, and her 73-year-old great aunt.
Insiders have revealed: “They couldn’t imagine a better role model than Anne, who is renowned for her work ethic and impregnable support for the King. She doesn’t put a foot wrong whilst still having her opinions not only heard but respected.”
Further quoting, they disclosed: “Anne was invaluable to Kate during those early uncertain years, especially as a commoner. She wants Charlotte to have the same candid tough love Anne gave her.”
Despite recent worries after Anne’s five-night hospital stint, she radiated good spirits when celebrating Adam Peaty’s Olympic victory.
Anchoring her gentle return to the spotlight, Anne’s appearance at the Paris medal ceremony follows her recovery from injuries sustained on her Gatcombe estate in Gloucestershire.
At the time of Anne’s injury, her medical team had indicated that her concussion and head wounds were likely caused by contact with a horse, although the exact circumstances of the accident remained obscured by her concussion.
