Gene Decode & Michael Jaco: DUMBS in Antarctica Before the Final Assault – The Classics

Michael Jaco was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina. He enlisted in the United States Navy in November 1978 and started his career as a Navy Hard Hat Diver. He volunteered for Basic Underwater Demolition/Sea Air and Land (BUD/S) training in August 1981. He completed BUD/S training 6 months later with class 116 in February 1982. He served with distinction as a Navy SEAL with the following commands:

UDT-12, SEAL TEAMS – 3, 4, 5, & 6
Naval Special Warfare Development Group
Naval Special Warfare Training Center (BUD/S/1st Phase)
Naval Special Warfare Training Center (Advanced Training)
Naval Special Warfare Unit – 1 (Guam)
United States Naval Academy

Upon leaving the US Navy in December 2002 he has served as a High Risk Security Contractor for over 8 years. Providing security leadership for 40 different contracts in the most violent war torn areas of the world.
